Do we need to think about some kind of high profile, ORIGINAL launch event, I think it needs to be joyful, full of hope and the great potential that arises when women work together. I think it would be the first multi ethnic environmental event – I think we could get coverage on Woman’s hour.

Women campaigning for a greener world 
Maureen said: Alice Hawkins – anniversary not appropriate- she went to Holloway in February 1907 and formed the WSPU Leicester office in March the same year hence last year’s theme a Century of Change and Challenge. We are however about to embark on an Alice Hawkins legacy project which brings suffragettes, ex slaves and refugees to the UK (barriers women have faced in the past) together to share stories with younger women in an active citizenship heritage archive project. We will be sorting out funding shortly and will know if we are successful in April/May.
We can find a Suffra Green date with Alice at almost any time in the year but would want to combine it with the legacy project and add green to active citizenship.
